MOUNT HERMON, LA – A 16-year-old child named Jaquan Brown was killed, and three other children were seriously injured in rollover crash on LA-440 Saturday night, Fox 8 reports.
The accident happened just after 11 p.m. when 31-year-old Pamela Brown lost control of her 2013 Hyundai Elantra while driving west on LA-440 in Washington Parish. Police believe Brown was likely driving while impaired.
The car was carrying a total of four children when it veered off the road close to LA-450, overturned, and collided with two trees.
Pamela and Jaquan Brown were properly restrained but died at the scene of the accident. The other three children were not wearing seatbelts and were seriously hurt.
Police are currently investigating the crash.
