Two-car crash involving SPD vehicle injures 4 in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, LA – Four people were hospitalized after a sedan collided with a police vehicle on a busy roadway in Shreveport on Saturday afternoon, reports KTAL News.

Police say the accident happened around 3:40 p.m. when a southbound Dodge sedan attempted to turn left from Broadway Avenue onto Cleveland Street and entered the path of a northbound SPD Police Unit.

The collision injured the driver of the Dodge, a child in the backseat, and a female adult passenger. The police officer also sustained non-critical injuries to the face. All four parties were taken to a local hospital for treatment and are expected to make a full recovery.

The investigation is ongoing.
