GARYVILLE, LA – A 32-year-old motorcyclist died Monday after colliding with an 18-wheeler along the highway in Garyville.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of LA-44 and LA-54, which is southwest of Garyville/Mt. Airy Math and Science Magnet School.

Police say that a southbound semi failed to yield appropriately at the intersection and pulled out in front of a westbound motorcycle while turning left. The motorcycle struck the rear side of the truck, and the unrestrained motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries.

Authorities identified the victim as  Frankie Credido.
