SLIDELL, LA – A Mississippi man died Wednesday when his vehicle veered off of the Stephen E. Ambrose Memorial Parkway in Slidell and crashed, Magnolia State Live reports.
Police say the crash happened just after 11 p.m. on the westbound side of Interstate 10 about two miles east of Interstate 59. The driver of a 2004 Ford Explorer crashed into a tree after leaving the interstate and overturning several times. The impact threw the driver from his vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene of the collision.
Authorities have identified the victim as 56-year-old Kenneth White. They do not know what caused White to leave the roadway. A toxicology sample was taken from White as part of the ongoing investigation.
