SHREVEPORT, LA – A teen girl died on Friday when the SUV in which she rode crashed and overturned in Bossier City.
WKRG News 5 reports that the driver of the SUV, 22-year-old Willie Player, was fleeing state police at the time of the wreck. Police attempted to pull over the Chevrolet Tahoe for a traffic violation when it crashed into a brick wall and overturned.
Police have identified the deceased passenger as 13-year-old Brenda Adler. They say Adler was unrestrained at the time of the crash.
A second passenger in the car, also a child, sustained minor injuries.
Willie Player, the driver of the Tahoe, was not hurt in the crash and attempted to flee the scene. Police captured Player and arrested him on several counts, including negligent homicide.
