Pedestrian killed in crash near Ouachita River in W Monroe

WEST MONROE, LA – A pedestrian died when a vehicle struck them on a roadway in West Monroe Thursday night, reports KTVE 6 News.

Police say the incident happened at 8:28 p.m. in the 1400 block of Cypress Street, or US-80, which is just west of Trenton Street and the Ouachita River.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Impala struck the pedestrian in the inside northbound lane of Cypress Street.

Authorities identified the driver as 34-year-old Travis Jenkins. They have not yet released the identity of the victim.
