JAMESTOWN, LA – A 34-year-old woman died Monday after her vehicle crashed along a state highway in Jamestown, reports KTAL News 6.
Police say the incident happened in the evening on LA-154 just west of LA-507, which is also west of Kepler Creek Lake.
The investigation thus far suggests that the victim’s eastbound 2008 Ford F-150 veered off of LA-154 to the right. The truck reentered the roadway, overcorrected, and ran off the left side of the roadway where it collided with several trees.
The victim, identified by authorities as Bridgette Dauzat, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene of the accident.
Police believe speed may have been a factor in the accident. A full investigation is underway.
