Man dies in single-vehicle crash on US-61 near Norco

ST. CHARLES PARISH, LA – A 52-year-old Sorrento man died on Wednesday when his vehicle crashed along a highway in St. Charles Parish, reports KTVE 10.

Police say the incident happened in the afternoon on US-61 near Evangeline Road.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a northbound 2019 Hyundai Elantra crossed into the southbound lanes, exited the roadway, and collided with a utility pole.

The driver, identified as James Kennedy, died at the scene of the accident. Authorities say he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
