Man dead in 2-vehicle Baton Rouge crash involving dump truck

BATON ROUGE, LA – A 45-year-old man from Zachary died after his vehicle collided with a dump truck in East Baton Rouge Parish on Wednesday night, WAFB 9 reports.

Police say the crash happened just after 9 p.m. on US-61 north of Thomas Road. The driver of a northbound 2017 GMC Terrain rear-ended a 2006 Mack dump truck.

Authorities identified the driver of the SUV as Lamontache Williams. Williams, who was not properly restrained, died at the scene of the crash.

No additional injuries have been reported at this time. An investigation of the incident is underway.
