Narrative
NEW IBERIA, LA – A woman’s life was claimed after she failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a tractor-trailer hauling sugar cane after 6 a.m. Thursday.
This collision happened at the U.S. 90 Frontage Road and North Grand Prairie Road intersection. The trailer hit the woman’s vehicle, and she succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.
New Iberia Police have identified the woman as Dina Bourque, the principal of Iberia Middle School. The truck driver was unharmed.
An investigation is ongoing. No other information has been confirmed.
