ALEXANDRIA, LA – A 76-year-old succumbed to fatal injuries after he crashed his vehicle into a cable barrier along I-49 North Thursday. First responders rushed Tandy McElwee Jr. to a hospital, where he was later declared dead. Officials revealed that he did wear a seatbelt, although they have not confirmed why he left the road in the first place and what led him to collide with the barrier.
