RAPIDES PARISH, LA – A two-vehicle collision on Highway 28 at Belgard Bend claimed a 48-year-old man’s life after 6 a.m. Wednesday. The driver of a 2006 Honda Accord failed to stop at the intersection. As a result, the driver of a Ford F-250 traveling east hit his vehicle. The Ford driver and passenger wore their seatbelts and were unharmed. However, the Honda driver, identified as John D. McCabe, 48, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
