Narrative
NEAR BELL CITY, LA – A 41-year-old man operating a 2015 Dodge Pickup Truck lost his life when he collided head-on with a 2005 Peterbilt Grain Hauler 18-wheeler Tuesday. This collision occurred around 2 p.m. LA 14. For reasons unclear, the pickup truck driver — Robert Allen Elliot of Gueydan — had crossed the center line while traveling west on the interstate. The 18-wheeler driver was traveling east and tried to avoid hitting Elliot by going into a westbound lane. However, the attempt did not work, and Elliot struck the big rig head-on and succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene. Elliot and the big rig driver (who was unharmed) wore seatbelts.
