BOSSIER CITY, LA – A 21-year-old man’s life was claimed in a single pickup truck crash on Highway 71 around 6 a.m. Friday. Louisiana State Police said that the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was driving on U.S. Highway 71 when a large hardwood tree fell onto both travel lanes. As a result, the driver – Luke Partain – collided with the fallen tree. He did not wear a seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries. At this time, impairment is not seen as a contributing factor in the collision. Police are investigating additional details regarding Friday’s deadly crash.
