Narrative

LAKE CHARLES, LA – A bicycle was struck after getting hit by an unmarked Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s vehicle at the Highway 171 and Fitzenreiter Road intersection around 10 p.m. Thursday. The Sheriff’s Office said the on-duty deputy was not involved. Impairment was not a contributing factor in the collision. Nevertheless, the deputy agreed to blood toxicology testing.
