Narrative
MANSFIELD, LA – A head-on collision on Louisiana Highway 175 claimed an 84-year-old woman’s life and injured an adult and child around 2 p.m. Wednesday. Officials said the driver of a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado – the 84-year-old woman – crossed the center line and crashed head-on with a driver of a 2015 Honda Crosstour. The driver of the Honda – 70-year-old Priscilla Powell, of Hemphill, Texas – and the child with her, were hospitalized for serious injuries. The 84-year-old woman, Oristene Jackson, of Mansfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. Powell wore her seatbelt, but the child did not. It is unclear if impairment played a role in this fatal wreck.
