ST. JAMES PARISH, LA – Authorities in Louisiana are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a 19-year-old man in St. James Parish. The victim, identified as Drake Upton from Lafayette, was driving on LA 44 at Oak Tree Street when he lost control of his car while trying to navigate a left curve. According to police, Upton veered off the road to the right and then overcorrected, causing his car to hit a tree and overturn.
Upton, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car and suffered fatal injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
