HAUGHTON, LA – A 37-year-old man from Haughton died in a single-vehicle crash on a state highway in south Bossier Parish early Thursday morning, reports KTBS 3.
Police say the accident happened just after 5 a.m. on LA-157 just south of LA-528. The victim’s northbound 2013 Dodge Challenger veered off of the highway and crashed into several trees. The impact of the collision threw the driver from the vehicle, and he died at the scene.
Officials have identified the victim as Geoffrey Davis. It is unclear if Davis was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. Authorities say speed may have been a primary factor in the crash.
