Narrative
CALCASIEU PARISH, LA – A 52-year-old man died Friday in a two-vehicle crash along the highway in southeast Calcasieu Parish.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. on the northbound side of Gulf Highway near Eddie Hebert Road, which is south of the Lake Charles Regional Airport.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a northbound vehicle rear-ended a motorcycle when the latter vehicle slowed to make a left turn.
The impact of the crash threw the motorcycle operator from his bike, and he died at the scene. Authorities identified the victim as Carson McCain of Lake Charles.
Medics transported the other driver to an area hospital with minor injuries.
