ST. AMANT, LA – A 51-year-old man died Friday after a two-vehicle collision along the highway in St. Amant.
The accident happened around 10:30 a.m. on LA-935 just east of LA-431. This is east of St. Amant High School and in the area of the St. Amant Fire Department.
Police say the operator of a westbound 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle lost control of his bike, at which time he was ejected into the eastbound lane of traffic and struck by a 2002 Ford F-250.
Authorities declared the motorcyclist, identified as Rodney Michel, deceased at the scene.
A full investigation is underway to determine what might have caused Michel to lose control of his bike.
