Narrative
LAFAYETTE PARISH, LA – A 65-year-old woman died on Thursday afternoon from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash along the interstate in west-central Lafayette Parish.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-10 between the cities of Duson and Scott.
Police say that an eastbound car rear-ended an 18-wheeler when the latter vehicle slowed due to traffic. The driver of the car, identified as Jude Mae Jefferson, died at the scene.
Medics transported the truck driver to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
