Narrative
LAFAYETTE, LA – A 71-year-old man lost his life after he was struck by a vehicle walking along the Lafayette Regional Airport Monday.
This crash happened before 4:30 p.m. on the 100 block of PH I Drive. The pedestrian, Richard J Vidrine Sr. of Washington, Louisiana, was in front of a gate when he was hit by a vehicle.
Vidrine was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lafayette Police have launched an investigation and have confirmed that intoxication was not a contributing factor.
