TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA – A 35-year-old woman died Monday morning when her vehicle collided with a pickup truck on a highway between Wilmer and Kentwood, reports WGNO News.
Police say the incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 440 and Louisiana Highway 1061.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a Ford F-150 failed to remain stopped at a stop sign and crashed into an eastbound Jeep Wrangler on Louisiana Highway 440. The collision caused the Jeep to overturn, at which point the unrestrained driver was thrown from the vehicle.
The victim, identified as Shaquant Moore, died at the scene of the accident.
The 25-year-old driver of the pickup truck, identified as David Hyde Jr., did not sustained injuries in the accident.
