KENNER, LA – A motorcyclist died Sunday evening when a vehicle struck him after running a stop sign at a busy intersection in Kenner, reports Fox 8.
Police say the accident happened around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of West Metairie Avenue and Clay Street.
A preliminary investigation, including video evidence, revealed that a 2004 Mercedes Benz ignored the stop sign on the southbound side of Clay Street at West Metairie Avenue. The vehicle proceeded to collided with the motorcycle, which was eastbound on West Metairie Avenue.
The collision killed the male driver of the motorcycle. Authorities have not yet identified him publicly.
Police arrested the driver of the Mercedes, identified as 31-year-old Christopher Brown, on charges that include violation of a stop sign and negligent homicide.
