MANY, LA – A 48-year-old man died, and another man went to the hospital after an 18-wheeler and an SUV collided on a highway in Many on Friday, KSLA News 12 reports.
Police say the incident happened around 4:15 a.m. on LA-6 near Hillcrest Ln. A 2013 Lincoln MKT veered from its eastbound lane and crashed into a westbound tractor-trailer.
The semi-truck then crashed into a ditch along the highway, while the SUV hit some kind of structure.
The driver of the 18-wheeler died at the scene of the crash. Authorities identified him as Ronald Williams from Powhatan.
Medics transported the driver of the Lincoln to a local hospital for moderate injuries. He has been identified as 22-year-old Chas B. Pilcher from Many.
Law enforcement is conducting a full investigation of the incident.
